The production we are doing this year is called “Journey Through The Legends”. Miss Hill wrote the script and we are all acting and singing in it, we are awesome. Our part in the production is the legend called how Maui fished up Aotearoa. We have two different Maui’s Hugh and Jared, however they are very versatile and they can fill in for the brothers too.

Early finishers: Take a screenshot of both paragraphs, then post to your blog with a few sentences explaining your learning.

My Mum character writing

Character WritingMaui.jpg

WALT describe a character by showing, not telling.
I must remember to: Show not Tell
Paragraph One - In your first paragraph, describe this person - how the character looks, sounds, smells.  This is the physical description. Show, don’t tell.  Be specific.
Paragraph Two - In your second paragraph, you deal with behaviour - how a character speaks and acts.  What makes this person unique - a laugh, a way of talking, a way of moving
Paragraph Three - In your third paragraph, you will deal with reputation.  Make the character come alive.  Show, don’t tell
Paragraph Four - In your fourth paragraph, describe the characters environment and belongings.

Begin your writing here:                                       My Mum

“Shhh” I’m watching TV Nikki!  When I hear that I can not say a word  and if I do I get growled but not a big growl.  My mum is really funny, helpful, caring and  loves to sing.   She loves her job at the hospital, and everyday when she is home and I’m there she has a big fat smile on her face.   If you were to find my mum walking down a road you would not look for a fat, short, short haired and brown eyed lady.

When mum acts she has this really funny voice and she makes me laugh for a  really long time  and that sometimes makes my tummy hurt. My mum has a funny laugh but it only happens sometimes when something is really really funny.  Mum has a lot of voices so like when she is really really angry she shouts, when she is happy she has a nice voice and when she is normal she has a normal voice.

My Mum gives me a lot of presents, she always surprises me, helps me, buys me stuff and take me places.Mum loves her job, she works at the Hastings hospital. She works  upstairs past a couple of floors in the heart place. Mum works in the hospital as a nurse, she has a white uniform black pants or skirt and whatever shoes except high heels (of course).

.

She sits there holding her  phone BEEP BEEP, another message. “Mum can you please come off the phone” OK Nikki just let me finish this level oh OK and she sat there finishing her level of candy crush.  My mum is always playing candy crush on the computer or her new phone which is a Samsung S5.  I love my Mum.

Area and Perimeter

This is are maths which is a Area and Perimeter poster.  I  did it with Nikitah and me (Nikita.)  We used sticky notes and made our own  shape, with also using vivid. We also used squared for area and  we added up all the distances for the perimeter and did times tables.

Camp Roil

Camp Roil Moments
This is moments of me cooking my dinner, dessert  and breakfast.
Last Thursday on the  second of April we went to Camp Roil.  The camp was only  one night but it was full of fun.   We made our own bivouac and made our own food. This was our fun survivor camp.   My favorite part was cooking the food.  My Group was Naz, Luke,Nikitah,Curtis and me.  Our parents name was Lychell.

I ran over to my station where my group was, and we were all looking at the recipe.  First we checked our box to see what we had.  We started cutting our oranges in half and cut the flesh out and ate it, yum! It was delicious!  Next we all started to put the ingredients in a bowl  and we all started to mix.  Once that was done we put the mixture into the orange peel, wrapped it in tinfoil  and put them in a line next to the campfire. The dessert I was making, was a muffin inside an orange.

We went back to our station, we got out our potatoes and washed, cut and wrapped them with tinfoil.  Once we finished doing that we started on making our burgers. I first went to the table to get meat patties and put it on the hot plate to cook. While that was happening I cut my bread in half and put in it tomatoes, lettuce, meat patties, egg and cheese.Yum it looked Delicious!

I went to the table with Nikitah and started eating, it tasted mouthwatering!   Later on I had got my potato which was so nice and my dessert was so delicious especially with the ice cream.

Camp Roil was the best I would love to go back and do it all over again.

Whale report

Report about whales
Intro Whales are known  to be a fish because it lives in the water but most people don't realize that whales are mammals because whales feed their babies milk.
Protection, In 1962 more than 60 000 whales have been killed. It is that so many whales have been killed that whales such as blue whales would become extinct. Norway,Russia and Japan had agreed that whaling had to be stopped. Until 1988 whaling properly had been banned.
Physical body features,Whales have leathery skin and under that is a thick layer of fat called blubber. All whales have two front fins called flippers, and two strong flat tail fins which are called flukes. Some species of whale have a single nostril or a blowhole on top of their  head. Many whales also have a fin on their back which is called a Dorsal fin.
Whale Habitats,Whales live all over the world in the sea, some even live off the coasts of Hawaii. Whales prefer cooler and deeper water such as polar regions so that tells that whales can also be found in areas of Antarctica.Whales travel in pods and in one pod there can be 1-7 whales in one pod. Some whales joins up two pods which is called a super pod and in that super pod there can be 150 whales of any kind in a super pod.
Echo-location, Lots of species which are toothed whales make special sounds which helps locate objects in the water so when it hits an object it will know whether it is big or small moving or dangerous. For dolphins  if it seems to be no danger dolphins  swims closer or if something dangerous lies in that area it swims away in cause of their lives.
conclusion All whales have blubber and the smallest whale to be known is a grey whale.
